Currently in Los Angeles — September 7, 2023: A warmup on the way

Plus, announcing Currently Sponsorships — a new way to reach our local audience.

The weather, currently.

Dry and mild

Dry and uneventful weather for the remainder of the short work week. The cooler weather will soon give way to a warm up for the weekend, with 90 degree temperatures by Friday and the weekend away from the coast. The warmest valleys should see a return to the triple digits.

The active Eastern Pacific once again is brewing another tropical system, this time Hurricane Jova, currently a major category 4 storm that is expected to stay well off the coast of Baja California and then SoCal. A rainmaker like Hilary this is not. But expect a return to some humidity and some upper level clouds.

One of my favorite organizations, Mutual Aid Disaster Relief, serves as a hub of mutual aid efforts focused on climate action in emergencies — like Hurricane season. Find mutual aid network near you and join, or donate to support networks in Florida:
