Currently in Los Angeles — November 28, 2023: Eyes on an upcoming storm
Plus, we're building a weather service for everyone.
The weather, currently.
Eyes on an upcoming storm
Expect another nice day across the Southland today, with fewer clouds hanging around with daytime temps around 70. It’s that time of the year when the coasts and the valleys do not have the same stark daytime temperature differences that they do in the warmer months.
As we head into the middle of the week, a series of storms will impact the area. At one point, models were going crazy with huge rainfall totals forecast for Downtown L.A. But like that other storm earlier in the month, this one too looks like it won’t be much. In fact, a lot of signs point to drizzle or light rain, if it even rains at all. Bears the question of what this year’s El Nino-fueled winter will bring, after a very unusual wet and cool La Niña last water year with a whopping 31 inches measured at USC’s campus. But hey, it’s still early in the season. More on this storm later in week.
What you can do, currently.
Everyone deserves to thrive. Everyone is worthy of a better world. That’s why we’re building a weather service for the climate emergency.
Currently’s new weather service is now live. In the weeks and months ahead, we’ll be continually adding more features and opening up more slots as we develop the service.
But for now, space is limited in the weather service because I want to make sure we can provide the highest quality service we possibly can while we work to refine the system with your input.
If you’d like to put your name on the waiting list, be sure to fill out our baseline survey if you haven’t already which will hold your spot in line.
Our goal — as always — is to co-create the most personalized, most informative weather service that exists. And, above all, to make this service accessible, equitable, and resilient enough to bring safety and joy to the climate emergency.
